Prior to his Rail assignments he worked for a variety of clients including John Sisk, Amec, Siac and Balfour Beatty. His work for these clients broaden his experience and knowledge within the Construction and Civil Sectors; and covered Quantity Surveying assignments (including claims work and Pre and Post Contract roles) and Programme Management / Analysis.

Schofield Lothian Ltd is a Commercial and Project Management Consultancy based in Temple, London. 70% of their work is carried out in the Public Sector.

The company takes its name from Mike Schofield who founded the business in York in 1973. In 1982 the then management team acquired the business and continued to develop it up to 2002 when they sold their interest to Accord plc. During that time Schofield & Co Ltd became Schofield Lothian when it purchased a dispute resolution business, MAS Lothian (circa 1996). This set the pattern for the company, which has evolved into a successful Commercial and Project Management Consultancy.

Accord plc was purchased by Enterprise plc in October 2007 to form a substantial corporation with a turnover in excess of £1 billion.

Schofield Lothian then became an operational business within the Support Services of Enterprise (AOL) Ltd. On 19th March 2009, an Assisted Management Buy Out was effected and the new entity of Schofield Lothian Limited became fully operational.
